Led by Professor Lis Neubeck, the 2023 update of the Core Curriculum in Cardiovascular Nursing (2015) embraces the formation of the Association of Cardiovascular Nursing & Allied Professionals (ACNAP) & reflects the diverse professional backgrounds of ACNAP members, including nurses, allied health professionals, & healthcare scientists.
Using the CanMEDs framework, the curriculum defines the knowledge, skills & attitudes required of NAPs who engage with people with cardiovascular disease. The core curriculum sets the standard for a minimum level of competence in cardiovascular care & aims to support NAPs develop from trainee to trainer, observer to independent within a robust clinical structure.
